I am not quite sure what to write here but lately I have gotten wind that we have some people who are so shy that they never post, some never even register, they just love to come and read our posts and look at our work, and get to know us better. But are frightened I guess that we would not except them and love them with open arms. To all our shy members I would like to say, please register, please let us get to know you. We are a special group of people who really love this site, as well as everyone who chooses to make themselves a part of us. If you choose to be a part of us you are part of the family. It is almost like having a step brother or sister, and you never knew you had them because noone ever told you they were there. So for all of you that are shy I beg you to let us know your are there please, and hope all of you will comment too. And let them know how you feel about this. Just maybe it will make them brave enough to know that we really want to get to know them and are not just friendly to each other but to all who choose to be part of us. It breaks my heart that someone would pay to be part of us and not get the care and support that is here.
Welcome and big hugs Tenderspirit              So glad everyone who is here, is here. Our little safe community.

Crawls up close the screen and says “It’s Ok to come inside, The fairies protect this place and we all protect the fairies. You are among friends and welcome.” Giggles and skips away after a fairy.
Seriously. We are just a bunch of silly girls and boys that love polymer clay. Come on in and chat. If you sculpt or are just getting started, or if you just love the OOAK art that we all make, thats Ok too, you will still love being here.Think of it like a baseball game, but unlike a real baseball game if you see a fly ball here you don’t need to duck, around here it was probably thrown by a fairy and it is good luck it it hits. you. LOL  Don’t be shy, Just say “Hi.”My head is filled with little winged things, itching to be set free. One lump of clay at a time.

Please don’t be shy!! I know, is strange to enter in a new community where no one knows you…you have afraid which someone can not appreciate you and your artwork or laughing about this…No absolutely!!! This is really an adorable family of artists. You can find great support for anything…art and life, you can find help, love and friends from all of the parts of the world. We live in different places and far away one from each other but at the same time we are neighbors…here we talk one language only that is passion for art and love for people. I think that an Artist (most) who loves create, have got inside a particular sensibility and humanity so is able to looks beyond. We can understand you very well ’cause we were all new members (every time and everywhere) and beginners in sculpture, we are learning yet and will grow up as artists and persons together. You are always Welcome, share with us this great passion, it will be beautiful and surely you will not regret!! We are waiting for you with open arms!

              I Believe….

ROTFL I think I was a little tipsy and tired last night. I was talking about fairies like I used to tell my daughter when she was little. yEp definitly tired, or one to many glasses of wine. LOL See I don’t think I could have have said anything stranger and no one picked on me at all. ROTFL, We are all just people with a common love of art and each other. Come on and say hello, you have nothing to lose and a ton of friends to gain.My head is filled with little winged things, itching to be set free. One lump of clay at a time.

I’m just gonna chime in here with the rest of the gang. Please, don’t be shy as you will soon find that you have nothing to worry about. When you enter through the doors here, you will always be amongst friends. We were all new once, like Liulabel (Laura) said before me. We were all beginners at one time and even still, we learn something new every day. We all have to start some place. So, why not start where you are among friends. ;-D I look forward to meet all the lurkers and the trolls, and the fairies hiding on the other side of the doorway. Step inside, and you will find you really had nothing to worry about to begin with.

Your friend already!

Hugs,

i remember i was once like you, i hid in the bushes for weeks maybe even months, before i even picked up the clay too, but since i sed hi i have been surrounded my friends, not only on site but they spill over into other parts of ya life, my friends lists on msn facebook etc have doubled, hehe
i may never be lucky enuff to meet my adopted family, but there is not a day goes by when i dont speak to at least one member, even if its just to say hi,there are times in our lives when ‘real life’ stuff has to take priority even to the clay but i know even then if dip in for 2 seconds someone will lend an ear or a shoulder, and we also know when to butt out, but if not, its ok to say hehe x
Weve seen each other through all kinds of stuff, lack of clay, lack of money, job losses, new jobs, losing houses, new houses, being snowed in, relationship breakdowns, engagements, weddings, births , deaths, qualifications, illnesses , sales, breakages, and at least 2 fabulous new sites,

friends come and go, but many many many come back again, because they know we love them.

artist of all abilities styles and mediums all see the world in a similar way and thats ok noone is ‘right or wrong’.
and something that is really special are the pieces that we make for each other , cos no matter what they are, we know they are made with love and soul, sometimes we even get little surprises in the post just for no particular reason than we made someone smile

youve bobbed in paying at least $2, i promise even if you get nothing else from it someone will make you smile x»MÛ¯|¯£€¥«

I don’t think that I’m a shy person I can talk and talk about anything to anyone face to face.
But when I’m in front of the computer I find it difficult to express my feelings.I fear I may be missunderstood or say the wrong thing to someone.
Sometimes I write loads and the delete it before to post because i’m computer shy.
I’m sure that the opposite it true for many too, that they can communicate much easier than if they were face to face. I’m not sure where I’m going with this but I just love reading all the posts and I try to answer as many as I can.
Please try to overcome your shyness and join in.

Nia

Everyone who are too shy to post, I was once like you and I took the plunge and posted. ( I lurked around for ages, just reading all the posts) I just said what a lovely sculpture a member had put in show and tell. They came back and thanked me. I was so nervous and was overwhelmed that someone on this amazing forum could take the time and thank me. I started posting regularly and the rest is history. This is the nicest friendliest forum I know and the people here are the most helpful and encouraging people I know. You can be a complete beginner or a well established artist and you will be welcomed with open arms. So come on in the water is lovely.Love Maggie X

hehe maggie,
nia i thoroughly understand your point things dont always read as they would in the spoken word and things can get misunderstood, but it is very very rare and, we know that noone does it on purpose, but at the end of the day i feel we are the kind of people that we are honest but if we have nothing nice to say wed rather say nothing atall and if anything is misunderstood we have our private messaging system, and im sure youll be assured it is just a translation issue,
i dont think in the 2 yrs or so ive been here anyone has had any reason to upset anyone i know there have been a cple of issues with ebay but they have been quite rightly been dealt with on ebay, we never even fight over whose making the tea or the last chocolate eclair, its decided on a first come first served basis hehe xx»MÛ¯|¯£€¥«

Im guilty,
I used to come here to read, look at the photos and dream of being just like the rest of you. I was told I was creative but I had a lot of self doubt and I was going through a major depression so most days all I could do was look at the pretty photos and dream (Im ok now, sorry to upset anyone with this tale) . I am getting better and finding my creativity again and life isn’t so very dark like it used to be I think some of what Tender said did seep into my brain. it’s a family here and you are welcomed and loved with open arms regardless of your art. it was Morezmore site that brought me here but it was everyone here that got me to stay and open up.

thank you for reading and thank you for being my friends

Marisa,
I think we have all, at one time or another, suffered from depression, blues, saddness and self-doubt. Non of us are immune to these terrible feelings. I prefer to think of these deep, dark, over-whelming feelings as part of the artistic process. Without them, we would never appreciate the light of day when the sunshine does peek into our hearts and bring us laughter. You have to have rain for the flowers to grow, and sun to nurture them.  It goes hand in hand, my friend.

Hugs,

I just want to say thank you to all of you for posting and letting people know that we care. We truely are a blessed group of people to have each other. So many of you have helped walking me through my recent breakup and I don’t feel unloved because I have all of you. It is a warm feeling for me to know that I have special friends all over the world. To know that I would be welcome in the homes of so many. Don’t think I have ever been too shy, but I know I have been caucious to speak, or write, in some places until I knew it was safe. I am sure that the Lord is going to bring us many many new people as soon as I am able to actually start getting the word out that we exist. I am doing my best at the moment to get all my reckage of the past behind me and get all my property here at home, cleaned up and put away and organized, and oh boy do I have a ton to do there, but one day at a time it is getting done. Then answering each and every email so I can get all of you in the forum as this has been a tough transistion for many of you. Change is not easy and that one little extra popup login in and what to put there, has just been difficult for so many. LOL but I only have one more person at the moment to walk through it. At least for today. LOL So once I got that darn little cabin up to snuff I will post pictures of my accomplishment. And yippee it is almost done. Then I am working on your free products, and platinum products as I do have one platinum member. So after that I will start putting out the word but have to make sure I can also take care of the featured artist membership. And get all my artists of the month for 2009 and 2010 up. Then I am good to go, to invite others. Oh boy what a journey.
So if you are new, be aware there are many others too that are, and many more to come. So come on in and say hello and welcome to the best adopted family on the net.

I thought I posted here…see how absent minded I am. I can’t seem to finish what I start anymore…
I am not a shy person, but I am not confident about posting my work (especially WIP’s)…but when I do post I get such great responses, it makes me happy that I did it. I have met some of the most wonderful people and dearest friends here. I feel closer to some of the people here than to people the I know in my everyday life. That says a lot about the people here. So open and friendly and supportive, you won’t meet nicer people anywhere. It is really hard to make that first step and post something, but I can guarantee that you will be welcomed warmly if you. So please just say hi.

tap, tap, tap any body out there. We are still waiting to hear from you.
Here are some easy questions to help get you going.
What is your name? Where are you from? How long have you been interested in art? Do you have any questions you would like to ask us?
If you answer any one or all of these questions or ask a question yourself your on your way to being a regular poster.
We look froward to meeting you. My head is filled with little winged things, itching to be set free. One lump of clay at a time.

In the short time I have been here I have made so many wonderful friends (who already mean more to me than they will ever know) and everyone is so supportive and friendly and welcoming (even if they themselves are having an off day) so come on in, tell us who you are and we will do what we can to make your stay in the ODA family one that you will treasure for a very long time to come Big Hugs, Rachel xxx
